Booking/ Cancellation Policy

BOOKING: For all regular sessions a 50% non-refundable session retainer is required to book and hold the date for your session and serves as a cancellation fee. The remaining balance is due on your session date.

For wedding packages, a 30% event retainer is due immediately to book and hold the date of your event and also serves as a cancellation fee. Thereafter, the final balance is due by the date of the wedding.

PAYMENT: All retainer fees must be paid immediately through an online invoice, paypal, cash, cash app, venmo, zelle, Visa, MasterCard or AMEX. If agreed to by Designs By JK Photography for client to pay by check, checks must first clear and any uncleared check will have an additional charge of $35 to cover bank fees plus whatever balance is due must be paid by cash or money order immediately. Please note, check must clear prior to reserving and booking a session date.

CANCELLATION/ RESCHEDULING POLICY: If client needs to cancel a regular portrait photography sessions or small event, the Client forfeits their session retainer and the 50% paid to book the session date will act as a cancellation fee. The fee can be credited towards a future session within 30 days of the original date if the client reschedules the appointment by text, email or phone call 7 days prior to the date of session and re-books at an agreeable date and time. Rescheduling is subject to a $50 rescheduling fee and is up to the discretion of Designs By JK for availability. In the event of a natural disaster, illness, venue issues or act of God Designs By JK will work with the Client to accommodate another date that is available within 30 days of the original event date. Re-shoots are at the discretion of the photographer and are not given for regretful personal choices such as hair, make up, clothing, personal schedule tardiness etc. In the case of bad weather, we will reschedule if there is availability or move the session indoors. The choice is yours. Sessions booked within 5 days are non refundable and cannot be rescheduled without a new booking deposit. Only one reschedule is allowed.

FOR WEDDING PACKAGES A 30% retainer is due immediately to book and hold the date of your event and also serves as a cancellation fee. If for any reason the Client cancels before the wedding date, the Photographer will keep the the event retainer fee paid to hold the wedding or event date as a cancellation fee. This includes venue closures, natural disasters, military deployment, illness, death or any act of God. Cancellation must be made in writing, signed by the contracting client. However, if the client requires to change the wedding date, I will do my best to accommodate and no cancellation fee will be charged as long as the new date is available and within twelve months of the original event date. Otherwise the new date will be subject to current rates if applicable. If I am not available for the new date, the original contract will be cancelled and subject to the cancellation policy.

If Designs By JK Photography cannot perform this Contract due to Photographer’s illness or emergency, then the Photographer shall return the retainer fee to the Client but shall have no further liability with respect to the Contract. This limitation on liability shall also apply in the event that photographic materials are damaged in processing, lost through camera or other media malfunction, lost in the mail, or otherwise lost or damaged without fault on the part of the Photographer. In the event Designs By JK Photography fails to perform for any other reason, Designs By JK Photography shall not be liable for any amount in excess of all monies paid.

LATE POLICY We ask that all clients are on time to ensure you have your full scheduled session time. I reserve the right to cancel an appointment for clients who are more than 15 minutes late or charge a $50 late fee per 15 mins late. Appointments are often scheduled back to back so I ask that you do not arrive more than 15 minutes early for your appointment. I highly suggest that you do not bring anyone other than the subject to be photographed to your session. Children hav a hard time sitting still for long periods of time and extra adults make the studio hard to move around in. Too many people in the studio make it hard for children to focus and for me to get their attention.

PORTRAIT SESSION NO SHOW POLICY Any client of that fails to honor their reservation for their session by not showing up, for any reason forfeits their deposit. A rescheduling fee will also be imposed to rebook client at a later date.
