Are you planning a wedding in the Charlotte NC area? Have you chosen your wedding photographer?
Here’re some things lots of couples are asking about when looking for a Charlotte wedding photographer:
Q. What kind of coverage are we going to get when we book a wedding photographer in Charlotte?
A. Every Charlotte wedding photographer is different. Typically you would want your wedding photographer to be with you during all moments of the day, to capture your day as it unfolds. On average we find that 8-10 hours of coverage is ideal on the wedding day. One thing to keep in mind here is don’t forget to double check with your wedding photographer about any additional rates that may apply or whether the coverage you’re looking to get will be enough to capture your wedding.
Q. How much can we expect to pay for the Charlotte wedding photographer’s services?
A. While price is always an important factor to consider, don’t let it be the only thing that affects your decision. Remember that photos will be the only memory keepsake from your wedding day (apart from the wedding dress) and we often hear stories from the brides who cried over their wedding photos because they have decided to book their wedding photographer based solely on price. Q. What about engagement photos?
A. Each Charlotte wedding photographer does this differently. Some charge extra for an engagement session, some include it free of charge with their wedding packages. I love photographing engagement sessions and I do include them with wedding packages at a very low cost. Moreover some of my wedding collections come with a custom sign-in book for guests with images from your engagement session. That’s where your guests will write their wedding wishes for you and it’s an amazing keepsake. Which leads us to…
Q. Do we get an album?
A. More and more people in Charlotte start seeing the value in custom made wedding albums which is great. These albums are your first family heirlooms and a beautiful keepsake to remember your Charlotte wedding! Wedding albums come in various shapes and sizes, the sky is the limit. They can be a magazine style (thin pages) or flush mount style (thick archival pages) with many options for covers. When selecting a Charlotte wedding photographer make sure you ask them the following questions:
How many pages are included in the album and if there’s an option to upgrade if we’d like to include more photos?
What cover options can we have for our wedding album?
How long will it take for me to get my wedding album? Some Charlotte wedding photographers will work with you to pick out photos for the album, some will design it for you (perfect for busy couples).
Q. How many photographers will there be at my event?
A. Many Charlotte wedding photographers bring in a second photographer to get different angles and stay unobtrusive during the wedding ceremony. A second photographer is also useful when it comes to photographing bride and groom getting ready. The main photographer is usually with the bride and their second photographer is photographing the groom getting ready.
Q. Can you recommend amazing wedding vendors you’ve worked with before?
A. Absolutely! In fact, I have put together a list of super talented wedding vendors here in Charlotte who can help make your wedding truly unforgettable, and I am always happy to share it with couples.
At the end of the day the most important thing is the trust in your photographer. You will most likely spend more time with your photographer than with your own family on the day of the wedding so make sure you’re a good fit for each other. And when the wedding comes – enjoy it! Let the professional capture it for you so you can later share it with your kids and grandkids.
